Friends of Badin Football:

Our Badin football team finished the 2009 season 7-4, winning the G.C.L. Central Division Championship and qualifying for the OHSAA division V playoffs. Despite a first round loss to a great Coldwater football team, this has been a great year for Badin Football. As a football team we achieved our two main team goals- that is first to repeat as G.C.L. Central Champions, and second- to qualify for the playoffs.

As Head Football Coach at Badin High School, I want to congratulate our football players- ESPECIALLY THE SENIORS! Through their great leadership, commitment, and character we had great success. Thank you so much seniors! Also, a HUGE THANK YOU TO THE PARENTS! Your support has been wonderful. Thank you for all of the pre-game meals, food after the games, and most importantly for raising such fine young men who are such a pleasure to coach.

Of special note: during the McNicholas week Mr. Jim Mense, a former Badin football coach (my O-Line coach here at Badin), spoke to the team yesterday after practice. It was great to have him at practice. Coach Mense played at Hamilton Catholic and went on to play at the University of Notre Dame, starting at center for Coach Frank Lehey. He snapped the ball to Heisman Trophy winner “The Golden Boy” Paul Horning. Former Ram great John Malone also spoke to the team. John was a quarterback on the first Badin team to make the playoffs in 1978 and play for the state championship when only four teams in the state qualified in each division.

I would like to personally invite all former Ram players to tour our weight room and locker room facilities. Just let me know and I will be glad to show you. You will be amazed if you have not seen the Pfirman Center. As a former Ram player for Terry Malone, I am honored to be head coach. I hope we can feel again that this is OUR program. We have the best weight room I have ever seen for a high school program. You are always welcome to stop by practice or the locker room.

Please let me know how I can help make Badin the best place possible. We have such a wonderful Catholic Community!

Also, I would like to thank all who have contributed to the design and maintenance of this Badin Football web site. It is such a great way to communicate with all of our Badin Football supporters. I would also like to personally thank all of the Badin Family for the overwhelming “Welcome Back” for my family and me.
